Hi Tannya — I’m very glad you found it helpful! –Sherm

  3. Great chapter Sherm. I’m freelancing as a Story Revisionist on a new Nickelodeon series for Brown Bag Films and it’s challenging working on my own. My clean drawings loses some of the energy and life of the rough. Should I sketch over the original roughs first before doing a cleaned version of the characters?

HI Aaron — Based on the storyboard samples I see on your website, I’m assuming you’re working digitally. The thing I love about drawing digitally is it lets me save the rough and clean up on a new layer…and the undo button lets an artist be a lot more spontaneous with your strokes. I would need to see an example of your rough vs clean drawings to be any more specific; If you’d like to send me some panel examples, you can email them to me at sherm@storyboardsecrets.com

      • Thanks for the quick response Sherm. I definitely appreciate you taking your time to critique my work.

I got your email! Thank you so much! I am really enjoying the course! I am learning so much and when I watch movies or tv shows all I can think about is this class! It’s really great! And thank you again for that spongebob drawing! I got a nice frame for it and it sits by my drawing desk for inspiration! Thanks again Sherm!
